Police are searching for a cop who has been missing since he was abducted by around 10 black-clad men in Binondo, Manila on Thursday, Feb. 18.
Cpl. Allan Hilario was forcibly taken by armed men who were riding a maroon Honda City car at 2:05 p.m. at the corner of Sto. Cristo and San Fernando Streets in Binondo, according to police report.
The suspects appeared to be looking for something on the police officer’s motorcycle before fleeing toward Jaboneros Street in Binondo, probers said.
Lt. Col. Rollyfer Capoquian, Binondo police station commander, clarified that Hilario, who is assigned at the San Nicolas Police Community Precinct, was not officially deployed to the site at the time he was abducted.
A witness told police that a woman pointed at the police officer before he was abducted. Capoquian said they are still investigating to establish the motive behind the abduction because Hilario has not received any threats to his life.
One of the possible angles that they are looking into is that the abducted police officer may have had an argument with someone.
Follow-up operation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the perpetrators.
