A man wanted for robbery was killed in a shootout with Bulacan police in Norzagaray, Bulacan Wednesday.
Police Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, Bulacan provincial police director, identified the slain suspect as Bernie Lastimoso of Barangay Tigbe, Norzagaray.
Based on the report from Police Lt. Col. Avelino G. Protacio II, Norzagaray police officer-in-charge, a tracker team and the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Norzagaray served the warrant of arrest against Lastimoso for the crime of robbery.
Lastimoso tried to escape and opened fire at the authorities. Lawmen returned fire, resulting in the death of the suspect.
Recovered from the shootout scene were four fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm, one caliber .38 revolver loaded with two fired cartridges, one live ammo, one fired bullet of caliber .38, and four sachets of suspected shabu. (Freddie Velez)
