Police seized over P4 million worth of shabu from two high-value drug personalities in Bohol province and in Cebu City on Friday.
According to the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7), first to be arrested was suspect Escorba Pata, a resident of Barangay Booy, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, listed as a high-value individual (HVI) in the police watchlist.
Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Unit of the Bohol Provincial Police Office caught the suspect carrying 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million.
The suspect did not resist arrest, police said.
Another HVI was also arrested in a separate police operation in Cebu City on Friday night.
Gil Antolin Regner, 34, yielded packs of shabu with an estimated value of P714,000.
Police said it took weeks of surveillance before they were able to corner Regner.
Police said Regner agreed to meet the poseur-buyer on Bonifacio Street in Barangay Parian past 10 p.m.
Operatives of the Cebu City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit immediately swooped in when the money and illegal drugs changed hands.
The two suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them, police said. (Calvin Cordova)
