Joint police and military operatives have arrested the assistant principal of a high school in Butuan City who is also being linked to communist insurgency in the Caraga region.
Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat, director of the Caraga regional police, said Rosanilla Consad, 54, was nabbed due to an arrest warrant issued by a court of Agusan del Norte for a case of attempted homicide.
Consad is the assistant principal of the San Vicente National High School in Butuan City.
The operation against her was conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Rajah Humabon.
Caramat said Consad is the head of the Regional Urban Committee (RUC), Regional White Area Committee (RWAC), Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) and listed as top 18 in the Priority Target of PNP Caraga.
“Further, intelligence report also reveals that Consad is involved in the recruitment of the youth and students to become members of the Communist Terrorist Group (the term used by the government on members of the Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army and the National Democratic Front),” the statement from the Caraga regional police read.
Police also tagged Consad in the attack against two government militiamen last year.
Police said she is also a member of GABRIELA and one of those who joined in protest actions in Butuan City on September 20, 2019, during the 47th Martial Law Commemoration, and on May 1, 2019, during the Labor Day.
