Martial arts legends Georges St-Pierre and Renzo Gracie are set to make their appearance as guest athletes in the second episode of The Apprentice: ONE Championship edition.
St-Pierre, popularly known as “GSP” not to mention being a UFC Hall of Famer and former world champion, and Gracie, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu icon, will be helping the 16 candidates in their physical challenge.
In The Apprentice’s 30-second teaser, participants seem to be up for an improvised rope climbing action as St-Pierre shouts pointers to Team Conquest’s Niraj Puran Rao of India.
Sho Takei of Japan, Eugene Chung of the United States and Niraj also aired their sentiments while the preview of the physical task was being shown.
One of the teaser’s takeaways is Kiwi contender Clinton Tudor, who was put in hot water after receiving back-to-back criticisms from his members in Team Valor and ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong during the boardroom deliberation in the first episode.
“I get shut down by my team quite a lot. Does it bother me? Yeah,” Tudor said in the clip, while Filipino bet Louie Sangalang seemed to preside over their meeting.
In the first episode, Sangalang showed his mixed martial arts knowledge and athletic abilities, helping Team Valor win both physical and business challenges.
Lara Pearl Alvarez of Team Conquest, on the other hand, was saved from the chopping block alongside teammates Alvin Ang and project manager Nazee Sajedi.
“During that moment, I felt like I was fighting for my life,” she said. “In my mind, I’m saying I didn’t go all the way here to be eliminated this way.”
It sent a shock to the spine of the single mother as she found herself as one of the first to be on the chopping block in the toughest edition of The Apprentice in history.
