TACLOBAN CITY – Three teenagers committed suicide allegedly over family problems in Bato, Palo, and Baybay City in Leyte on Sunday, police reported Monday.
In Baybay City, a Grade 10 student, 16, was found hanging inside their house at around 10:20 a.m.. His neck was tied with a blanket attached to the roof of their house. He was declared dead by a nurse from the Baybay Emergency Response Unit.
It was learned that the victim was suffering from depression due to alleged family problems. Local police said there were no signs of foul play.
In Bato, Leyte, a 14-year-old girl, who was also suffering from depression, was discovered lifeless at around 10:40 a.m. She was found hanging from a tree adjacent to their house.
It was learned that she had been having problems in school and with her family which may have triggered her to take her own life.
Meanwhile, in Palo, Leyte, a female Grade 8 student was also reported to have killed herself at around 1 P.M.
