Nueva Vizcaya Gov. Carlos M. Padilla announced Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19.
“The Governor’s RT-PCR or swab test came back POSITIVE for Covid-19,” according to a post in his official Facebook page.
Although he is positive for the deadly virus, he is only experiencing mild symptoms, refuting rumors that he is in critical condition.
Proper tracing for all those who were in close contact with him is already underway.
The governor admitted that he went to a hospital Sunday night upon the advice of his doctor who told him earlier to go on quarantine after was exposed again to a COVID-19 case.
The total COVID cases in the entire province of Nueva Vizcaya has reached 1457 with 52 deaths as of Monday. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
