Julia Barretto admitted to having had some apprehension learning she’d be working with newbie Marco Gallo in “Di Na Muli.”
No, it is not because she believes him an inferior actor.
She shared, “Medyo I got nervous lang kasi he’s young and I didn’t really know him that much na parang ‘magki-click ba kami?'”
In the end though, her fears proved groundless.
“We were able to quickly establish good rapport na parang we’ve known each other for so long na. It was fun. It was a breeze working with him,” Julia related.
Julia didn’t worry much about the other Marco in the series: Marco Gumabao.
“Naku, we’ve known each other for so long. I consider him one of my best friends. In fact, knowing that he’d be part of the project was a deal closer for me. Alam ko na na it would be fun kahit ma lockdown kami,” Julia enthused.
In “‘Di Na Muli,” Julia plays the role of Yanna, a young woman who suddenly learns that she has the ability to see people’s remaining lifetime by touching their hand.
She loves it.
“I don’t want to have her powers exactly pero in this story it works e. It added a new dimension to the usual romance, boy-meets-girl trope. Ang ganda ng story. I think people will really like it,” she said.
Playing Yanna’s longtime friend and suitor CJ in the series is Marco Gallo.
He said, “I was intimidated at first with Julia because she’s such a big star but she is a generous actor. She helped me a lot in the sense that she made me feel at ease and I thank her for that.”
Then there’s Mico, the good-looking but cynical other guy as played by Marco Gumabao.
“Gusto ko ‘yung character ko rito because he’s not that black and white. May depth siya and I learned a lot portraying the role,” He said.
Fate would eventually lead them all together.
But who would Yanna choose?
Note that “Di Na Muli” is also a special treat for fans of the love team of Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon.
Angelu plays Grace, Yanna’s mother. Bobby plays Alfred, the father that Yanna didn’t know she had.
“Di Na Muli” also stars Baron Geisler as Yanna’s Uncle Toto, Liz Alindogan as Yanna’s Lola Divine who is a fortune teller. Playing the family of CJ are Lander Vera Perez, Katya Santos and Andre Yllana. Yanna’s best friend is played by Krissha Viaje. Mico’s sister is played by Ashley Diaz.
Andre Yllana, the son of Jomari Yllana and Aiko Melendez, and Ashley Diaz, the daughter of Joko Diaz, also play important roles in the series.
Directed by Andoy Ranay, “Di Na Muli” will start streaming Oct. 22 on Vivamax.
