Jimuel Pacquiao, son of former eight-division world boxing champion Manny, recently trained with Mexican sensation Canelo Alvarez and trainer Eddy Reynoso in San Diego, California.
The younger Pacquiao opted to say in the United States to train as well as continue his duties in the Manny Pacquiao Foundation.
Jimuel had taken a picture with Alvarez, received a pair of gloves and some pointers from him, and even had a short conversation about his father Manny and boxing in general.
Jimuel, 20, then worked the mitts with Trainer of the Year frontrunner Reynoso while Alvarez, the unified super middleweight world champion, does his own workout around the ring.
Alvarez, 31, is set to clash with IBF champion Caleb Plant next month at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“He’s (Alvarez) gotta get him out of there. Round 7 or 8? Just like the last fight,” said Jimuel as the Mexican icon chuckled in a video posted by ESNews.
Alvarez (56-1-2, 39 knockouts) scored an eight-round corner retirement victory against British foe Billy Joe Saunders to retain his super WBA, WBC, and The Ring titles and capture the WBO counterpart.
The only belt missing in his collection would be Plant’s IBF title
The 29-year-old Plant, for his part, remained undefeated in 21 matches and defended his belt for the third straight time since bagging it last January 2019.
