The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) assured NCR residents that cinemas will remain open and operational despite the change in alert level status from 2 to 3.
In statement released to the media as signed by MTRCB Executive Director II and Spokesperson Benjo Benaldo, the agency said:
Cinemas/Movie theaters in the National Capital Region (NCR) will remain operational amidst the change in the Alert Level Status from level 2 to 3, following the increase in COVID-19 cases.
Pursuant to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) Resolution No. 155, the NCR is placed on Alert Level 3 from 03 January 2022 until 15 January 2022.
Under Alert Level 3, Cinemas/Movie theaters shall be allowed to operate at the maximum allowed capacities listed below, provided that all on-site employees/workers of the establishment are fully vaccinated against COVID-19:
Indoor Cinemas: 30% capacity for fully vaccinated individuals
Outdoor Cinemas: 50% capacity
