CEBU CITY— Dipolog City’s homegrown talents stood their ground against their respective rivals from Cebu in the FMC Combat Sports’ Superkickboxing Competition Thursday night, June 30 at the Zamboanga del Norte Sports Complex in Dipolog City.
Jude Jaictin of MCM Ariana MMA Team, Bryle Osaraga of Yamaru/MCM Ariana MMA Team and Art Marquez of DBG Team bested their rivals from Lapu-Lapu City-based Lapu-Lapu Strikers.
In the action-packed main event, Jactin scored a second-round knockout win over Isaac Dela Cruz, while Osaraga stopped Kim Bisbal in the equally exciting co-main event.
Marquez also escaped with a victory against John Lano.
Jaictin unleashed pinpoint punches and knee strikes to the head and body to send De la Cruz to the canvass at the 2:18 mark of the second round.
The 10-fight action-packed card also saw Christian Belarmino (DBG Team) defeating Dudwill Montero (Dipolog Top Team), Shephered Relon (Dipolog Top Team) dispatching Kyle Bastilada (Yamaru Gym), Jerome Toyor (Home Boyz Fight Club) beating Justine Ondong (B.T. Fight Team), Albert Docto (D Gym of D Powers) nipping Blitz Penafranda (Dipolog Top Team), Ider Dinopol (Clavite Boxing Gym) trampling Jason Quinto (B.T. Fight Team), Mawi Abang (Dipolog Top Team) prevailing over Jover Ruiz (D Gym of D Powers) and John Paul Lacre (Home Boyz Fight Club) disposing of Ban Alpajaro (D Gym of D Powers).
Organized by the FMC (Full Metal Clash)-Combat Sports of Dipolog through its directors Ivan Stranahan and Rhandolf Sindo in partnership with Deep Dream Events Managment Services, the event was part of the series of sporting events of Kadaugan sa Katawhan sa ZaNorte or KaSa KaZa 2022.
KaSa KaZa 2022 is spearheaded by Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos and Dapitan City Tourism chief Apple Marie Agolong.
“This is part of our aggressive drive to drum up sports tourism in the province of Zamboanga del Norte,” said Agolong in a statement.
