Ruffa Gutierrez has issued a statement on social media Friday denying allegation she has “thrown out” some of her helpers recently supposedly without paying their salaries.
Commenting on a post made by P3PWD Rep. Rowena Guanzon asking her about it, she wrote: “Hello Ms. Guanzon, No it’s not true.”
Gutierrez went on to detail, “There was a situation at home while I was shooting on the set of ‘Maid In Malacañang’, so my staff had to call security to make sure my children were safe.”
“The 2 new kasambahays who have been in our household for only around 2 weeks were fighting (with) our 68-year old senior mayordoma (who has been under my care for more than 18 years).”
She went on to make clear, the helpers left on their own accord.
“They were demanding to leave the house, which I said they were able to do after I returned home from work, so I could talk to them before they leave.”
“I’m always very generous with those I love and those that work for me kaya (so) most of our helpers have been with me for [13 to 35 years],” Gutierrez maintained. “My lawyers are on top of the situation.”
The whole brouhaha started with Guanzon sharing on Twitter Thursday how a friend had to “rescue two household helpers who were thrown out of a first class village by their employers without paying their salaries.”
Guanzon did not name names but the next day on July 8, she asked Gutierrez via Twitter, “Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez is [this] true?”
It was then that the actress issued a rejoinder.
Guanzon is yet to reply to Gutierrez as of this writing.
