Eric Ejercito is a man of many interests.
He’s an actor, director, dancer, singer, songwriter.
Eric previously operated as Eric E.
He wrote, performed and produced “Fearless” back in 2018.
The music video for the same earned raves in as much as it was considered “epic.”
Now, he is back for more.
He has a new single out titled “Fool.”
The track—about being made a fool of in the name of love–also puts on display, Eric’s love for K-styled pop (essentially P-pop) and dance.
He co-directs the music video (with L.A. based director Jeff Centauri).
According to Eric, “Fool” is practically, “a collation of every single thing I love doing: producing, filmmaking, dancing, singing, art design, performing. All of these things are a work of art and I’m merging them into a masterpiece.”
So, how did he get his start in music?
“I love Pop music in general, may it be western pop, K-pop groups or solo artists,” Eric shared. “Before I dove into pop, I had a band throughout high school and college. I have a dance crew as well where we competed internationally. Through the years, it hit me to combine both.”
As to his image, he explained, “The way I look resembles the ‘Korean’ aesthetic.’ I actually researched about the whole phenomenon and now I’ve been bitten by the (K-pop) bug.”
His sound is made up of “a lot of inspiration of many types of music combined.”
Apparently, this is where Eric thrives. In mixing his interests. In taking one thing and combining it with another.
“My style is a representation of who I am. I’m just being me. Also I’m a solo act. I’m not in a group like most so as far as comparison goes, surely, it’s fresh for the Ppop scene.”
Ultimately, Eric wants to be recognized as a “versatile artist.”
He said, “I want to be known as an overall versatile artist. The guy who can literally make it happen from the very first step, up to this moment. I am managing to give it my all every single day. Don’t get me wrong, it’s really tough producing and performing simultaneously and all but I’m just grateful for the people I’ve worked with and helped me along the way and we were able to come up with this fantastic project that I’m truly proud of.”
