Bacolod City National High School of Negros Occidental banked on the superb pitching of Mary Joy Alpitche and blanked Camden, 10-0, in the Senior Little League Girl’s Softball World Series elims on Aug. 2 in Roxana, Delaware.
While she was dominant on the mound, Alpitche also did well offensively, coming through with multiple hits to help the PH team notch their second straight win.
Representing Asia Pacific, the Nationals were on fire right in the first three innings, scattering eight runs that all but disarmed the team from USA East.
They capped their mighty show by drilling in two more runs in the sixth inning.
In all, the Nationals had 12 hits as Jhaycel Roldan and Trisha Hicayen also produced multiple hits while the other hits were accounted by Anne Patricio, Kenchie Tan, Kyle Matarong, Clarina Elder and Laira Silverio.
Alpitche, on the other hand, yielded only five hits – enough to inspire her teammates to a near-flawless game.
Up next for Team PH is USA Southwest (Texas team) in a battle of two unbeaten teams.
