After a much-needed break, pole vaulter EJ Obiena plunges into action again on Tuesday β the first of seven tournaments heβs scheduled to take part until mid-September.
His busy schedule begins in Jockgrim, Germany for the Stabhochsprung followed by his stint in Athletissima in Lausanne, Switzerland from Aug. 25 to 26 then he returns to Germany for the True Athletics Classics in Leverkusen on Aug. 28.
He caps his August schedule with a stint in the St. Wendel City Jump also in Germany on Aug. 31.
Two days after that, the Tokyo Olympian who is now ranked No. 3 in the world sees action in the Memorial van Damme event in Brussels, Belgium followed by the ISTAF 2022 in Berlin Germany on Sept. 4.
His last stop will be the Golden Fly in Schaan, Liechtenstein on Sept. 11.
Obiena is looking at improving his season-best of 5.94 meters at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon that erased his national and Asian record.
So far, he has won in four outdoor tournaments and made it to the podium six times.
His last tournament was at the Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix last Aug. 8 where he finished fourth with 5.45m.
