The iconic tenement basketball court in Taguig City holds a special place in the heart of NBA stars.
Count Jordan Clarkson among them.
For the third time, the Utah Jazz star took time out to drop by the place, and like in the past, it was a fiesta-like atmosphere as residents went out their way to see the Utah Jazz star in flesh.
Some queued to have their shirts signed by the amiable Fil-Am cager, while some excitedly posed for selfies and groupies.
And for Clarkson, it was a sweet homecoming.
“This is kind of where it started at. We came here the first time I visited here, now I’m just continuing my visits. Every NBA player comes here. They’re not from here — I am,” said Clarkson.
In fact, Clarkson does not consider himself as guest anymore because Philippines, to him, is home.
He delighted the residents when he went around the court and handed 50 pairs of shoes, basketball, and shirts to the children who joined the basketball clinic.
Even the late Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have visited the place.
He may not be as popular as Bryant and James, but Clarkson’s visit was different – thanks to his Filipino blood. (Nikole Javier).
