EJ Obiena is super hot.
The pole vaulting superstar capped his glorious August with his second straight gold medal, topping the St. Wendel City Jump in Sankt Wendel, Germany Wednesday, Aug. 31.
The world No. 3 Obiena confidently soared over 5.86 meters to register a new meet record as he bested fellow Tokyo Olympian Menno Vloon of the Netherlands and Anthony Ammirati of France.
Vloon captured the silver via countback after he and Ammirati posted identical 5.81m marks.
This was Obiena’s third title and fourth podium finish in nine days after ruling the Stabhochspringmeeting in Jockgrim last Aug. 23 and the True Athletes Classics in Leverkusen, both in Germany.
He finished third in the Athletissima event in Lausanne, Switzerland after the count back – a tournament won by the prodigious Armand Duplantis of Sweden
There will be no rest for Obiena as he competes in the Memorial van Damme in Brussels, Belgium on Friday, Sept. 2, a Wanda Diamond League meeting, followed by the ISTAF 2022 in Berlin, Germany on Sunday, Sept. 4.
He caps off his busy schedule with the Golden Fly event in Schaan, Liechtenstein on Sept. 11.
