Rap group ALLMO$T has come a long way since notching a huge hit with “Dalaga.”
Now considered among the country’s biggest and brightest rap acts, ALLMO$T is actually well on their way to establishing a lasting legacy.
After releasing several other viral hits including “Miracle Nights” and “Bagay Tayo” (which has surpassed “Dalaga” in streaming numbers on Spotify), ALLMO$T is now aiming for global success.
This is what the group, which include Russell Dela Fuente, Angelo Luigi “Crakky” Timog, Jomuel “Jom” Casem and Clien Alcazar, told us recently.
“Malaking challenge sa amin ang ma-i-pagpatuloy pa ‘yung success namin,” said Russell. “Hindi puwedeng makontento ka sa na-achive mo na. Dapat parating may growth, may improvement.”
Added Crakky, “Bilang artist, gusto namin ang global recognition pero hindi namin ito ini-aim consciously. Ang ginagawa lang namin, lalo pa namin inaaral kung paano pa namin mapapaganda ang tunog namin.”
They now have close to a combined 200 million streams on Spotify alone.
Factoring in YouTube, ALLMO$T is estimated to have almost half-a-billion listens and views from across the globe.
They’re out to better those numbers.
The group just released a brand new original tune titled “Larawan.”
An ode to days gone past, it actually touches on environmental issues as well.
This is evident on its accompanying music video as directed by Aaron Maagma. Shot in San Marcelino, Zambales, which was partly destroyed by Lahar some two decades ago, it paints the group in dramatic light.
Said Jom, “Ito ‘yung best example ng growth namin musically. May iba kaming topic dito.”
Clien added, “In terms of music mas simple ito from past releases pero I think, mas catchy siya, mas madaling masakyan ng mga tao. Pero may lalim din.”
