Three teams have made known their imports for the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference which opens shop on Oct. 8.
The PLDT High Speed Hitters are bringing in Russian outside hitter Elena Savkina-Samoilenko as they intend to go deep in the import-flavored competition.
Apart from playing in local circuit back home, the 27-year-old Russian had stints in France and Turkey, making her a player to watch considering the level of play in those countries.
Cignal and PetroGazz had earlier announced their imports for the tournament, with the HD Spikers bringing in Tai Bierria and the Angels acquiring Lindsey Vander Weide, also outside spikers.
The 6-foot-1 Bierria played for Memphis University and New Mexico University in US NCAA and then suited up for Polkky Kuusamo in Finland and Clamart Volley-Ball in France.
Vander Weide, meanwhile, played for the University of Oregon before seeing action in the Volley-Ball Nantes in France and Bekescsabai Roplabda SE in Hungary.
The 6-foot-3 standout last played with the AEK Athens in Greece.
The PVL last held a Reinforced Conference in 2019 where PetroGazz captured the crown. The Angels had Wilma Salas as their import, who eventually clinched the Best Foreign Player plum.
