Far Eastern University picked up its second win in Pool D with a 25-12, 27-25, 25-15 win over debuting Letran in the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-season Conference Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila.
Save for the second set that saw the Lady Knights put on a gallant fight, the Lady Tamaraws practically dictated the match with combination of good offense and solid defense.
The win was FEU’s second in three games – its loss was inflicted by fellow UAAP campaigner in La Salle.
Earlier, Lyceum debuted on winning note with 25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College.
After encountering some precarious moments in the second with Letran rookie Nizelle Martin’s two consecutive through-the-block points, 24-all, the Lady Tamaraws went back to serious work again to finally take the fight out of the Lady Knights.
Jean Asis paced FEU with 11 points off 10 attacks and one block.
