Gary V recently staged his “Reenergized” tour in four cities in the US West Coast: Pantages in Seattle, Cache Creek in Brooks, CA, Pechanga in Temecula, CA and the Royce Hall in UCLA.
Note he sold out two of the venues.
Of course, he did not disappoint fans.
Opening the shows playing the percussion and strutting through the stage with his legendary passion, Mr. Pure Energy electrified audiences at every stop, singing hit after hit.
He only sang one cover all throughout, his signature version of Al Jarreau’s “Spain,” which drew a standing ovation from the crowd.
Gary played the bongos and timbales as backup musician for his daughter Kiana as she sang her latest release “Heartbeat On Me.”
Father and daughter also performed a well-applauded duet of “Sana Maulit Muli.”
Kiana, who just won Best R&B female performer at the PMPC Star Awards For Music, opened the show with two of her hit songs before rejoining her father in the middle of the show.
Special concert guest performer Yeng Constantino was a huge hit as she sang her hit “Ikaw” as with a beautiful version of “Hawak Kamay” as arranged by music director Mon Faustino.
One of the favorites was the “Babalik Ka Rin” duet of Gary and Yeng where he played a musical instrument called a Zendrum, which made the fans roar in delight.
Surprising Gary during the Los Angeles stop of the tour was Coco Martin.
Gary was speechless when he saw the “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” director-actor walk on stage to thank him for singing the theme songs to most of his soap operas.
Note that in tears, Coco went to visit Gary personally in his home in Antipolo when he was recuperating from nephrectomy.
Other artists who watched the shows were actress-host-chef and newlywed Donita Rose with husband Felson Palad; Tim Pavino; Alaska Aces’ Sean Chambers; Chime TV’s Faith Bautista-Tamashiro; brand influencer Chris Do; singer-songwriter Cecile Azarcon-Inocentes; Pinky de Leon; and Jennifer Cortez to name a few.
The next shows will be held at Texas Hall in Dallas on October 14, Alaska Center for Performing Arts on October 21 and Town Hall in New York on October 23.
Tour sponsors include Philippine Airlines, Tancinco Law Office, and Belo Medical Group.
Tour promoters include Star Media, Manila Genesis, Zion Agency, Music Arts International, Jeepney Production, Relion, Jak ‘N Poy, and JP3 Marketing and Production.
