RJ Abarrientos sustained his scintillating offensive display, nailing six triples to help steer Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus past Seoul SK Knights, 97-84 in the Korean Basketball League on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Fresh off a clutch performance the last time out when Phoebus outlasted Jeonju KCC, 89-88, Abarrientos provided timely hits anew, drilling two straight triples which proved to be the dagger to the heart of the hard-fighting Knights in the final 1:20 in the contest.
The two huge triples was the final two in Abarrientos splendid 6-of-7 clip from the beyond the arc to finish with 23 points apart from posting six rebounds, four assists and three steals – a fitting follow up to a 21-point on five triples performance in their last game.
In that match, he also posted eight assists, four steals and three boards.
Abarrientos quickly set the tone in the opening half, scoring 12 of his total to help Phoebus take a comfortable double-digit spread at the break, 54-41.
The Knights though refused to go down with a fight cutting the lead down to single digits in the waning minutes, 89-82, all of which went futile at the hands of Abarrientos who helped Ulsan improve to a 3-1 record in the KBL standings.
Gaige Prim also put up a stellar show for Phoebus finishing with 26 points and seven rebounds while Seo Myeon Gjin added 18 markers and five assists.
