Cedbu Chooks! landed in a tough Pool A in the 2022 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 Quest 2.0 which starts Sunday at the Ayala Malls Solenad in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Fielding the quartet of Mac Tallo, Brandon Ramirez, Mike Nzeusseu, and Marcus Hammonds, the team will face Makati MNL Kingpin, Botolan Hayati, and Butuan Chooks! in the Level 7 FIBA 3×3 tournament that has a ticket for the 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Hong Kong Masters and P100,000 waiting for the winner.
Tough has been the season so far for Tallo and Cebu Chooks! as injuries have hit the team. Vince Tolentino remains out for the country’s top 3×3 team due to a shoulder injury.
Cebu Chooks! is coming off a 0-2 campaign in the Riyadh Masters, that saw them fall to Serbia’s Ub (17-11) before suffering a stunning upset at the hands of Qatar’s Doha (17-15).
Cebu begins its campaign against Makati at 12:20 p.m.
Meanwhile, Pool B will be composed of Manila Chooks!, Talisay EGS, General Santos, and Quezon City.
The tournament will follow a standard one-day FIBA 3×3 tournament with the teams facing those in their pool once. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the knockout semis. In case of a tie, the total points scored by each team will serve as the tiebreaker.
The second and third placed teams will bring home P30,000 and P20,000, respectively.
