The Education Blazing Torch outsteadied the Criminology squad, 72-67, and advanced to the final of the basketball competition of the South East Asian Institute of Technology Intramurals recently at the SEAIT gym in Tupi, South Cotabato.
Mentored by Dr. Rodoldo Juanillo, the same coach who nurtured the talent of former PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes, the Blazing Torch banked on the inspired performances fromDelmour Suaszo, Hulmer Sraspi and John Paul Encontro to earn the right to face Business Administration in the final.
Juanillo sees a thrilling end to the return of the annual sports festival that was shelved the past two years due to Covid pandemic.
“Student-athletes are very happy with the return of school activities and so are their supporters,” said Juanillo, who is ably assisted by Ervin CVloe Cagas.
The school, owned by the family of South Cotabato Gov. Rey Tamayo, has more than 20,000 students — the largest in Soccsksargen region.
