Adamson and La Salle dispute the fourth and last semis berth in the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Tipoff is at 6 p.m. with the winner joining top seed Ateneo, defending champion University of the Philippines and National University in the Final Four.
Whoever emerges the victor in the La Salle-Adamson setto will have the Herculean task of beating the Eagles twice to advance to the Finals.
For finishing 1-2 after the double-round elims, Ateneo and UP secured twice-to-beat advantages over their respective rivals with the Maroons facing the Bulldogs.
While the Archers will go into Sunday’s game in high spirits, the Falcons are still smarting from a 66-61 loss to the Eagles, a defeat that enabled the Archers to force a playoff.
The Archers, on other hand, are riding the crest of 77-72 win over the UST Tigers that gave them a 7-7 record – the same mark of Adamson. m
Over at the women’s play, La Salle Lady Archers are seeking to bounce back at the hands of University of Santo Tomas Tigresses in their 3 p.m. encounter.
The Lady Archers have been disarmed of their twice-to-beat incentive after a 68-57 beating from the Tigresses in the Game 1 of their Final Four tussle.
The knockout match winner will meet six-time defending champion National University Lady Bulldogs in the finals.
