The Pasay ‘The Travel City’ Racing Festival is back for its ninth edition on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the MetroTurf in Malvar, Batangas.
The one-day festival promises to be more exciting this year as exciting prizes will be given away to the winners and top-caliber races are in store for the racing aficionados.
A whopping P2.55 million in prizes are at stake for the 12 races lined up which almost doubled from last year total purse.
Hosted by the Metro Manila Turf Club, the event is being supported by Newport World Resorts, SMDC, PCSO, Pagcor, Double Dragon Properties, Century Peak, Willy Ke, Willy Sy, and Boysen Paint. It also commemorates the founding anniversary of Pasay City, considered as the tourism gateway to the country.
The centerpiece race, the 9th Pasay ‘The Travel City’ Grand Cup, has a total prize of P750,000 with the winner going home with P450,000.
The official runners disputing this 1,800-meter race are Kercharmer, Time For Glory, Gusto Mucho,Flattering You, King Tiger, Boom Raider, Blackburn, Gomper Girl, Magnificent Lady and Robin Hood. The runner-up here picks up P168,750 while the third and fourth placers will get P93,750 and P37,500, respectively.
The 9th Pasay Rep. Tony Calixto Cup, meanwhile, offers a total purse of P500,000 with the winner bagging P300,000. The protagonists in this 1,600-meter race are Don Julio, Cupid Song, Basheirrou, Gomezian and Eazacky.
The 9th Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano Cup, on the other hand, will also be disputed over the 1,600-meter distance and stakes a total prize of P500,000. The runners here are Marilag, Downinsideprotection, Bombay Nights, Raintree Starlet, Palibhasa Lalake, Speed Fantasy, American Factor, and Sudden Impact.
A total of P400,000 will also be up for grabs in the 1,600-meter 8th Pasay Former OIC Mayor Duay Calixto Memorial Cup that will be disputed by the following gallopers: Yabadabadur, Alalum Falls, Sweetie Giselle, Saritorial Elegance, Keep Da Trick, Rendevouz, Orange Bell, Player Andri, Sonic Clay, Swakto power Duo, Gintong Hari, and Light Bearer.
