Multi-titled coach Dante Alinsunurin has been tapped to call the shots for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans for the 2023 Premier Volleyball League season.
The team made the announcement Friday, Jan. 6, a development that has made Choco the team to watch.
Alinsunurin took over the job of Edjet Mabbayad, who was installed interim coach following the resignation of Oliver Almadro.
“With Coach Dante’s experience, commitment and program, we truly believe he will lead our Titans to reach their highest potential as he has done for the other teams he has coached,” the statement read.
Choco fans are convinced that Alinsunurin is the perfect choice to handle the team due to his impressive credential having steered National University to four UAAP championships, as well as four Spikers’ Turf titles.
He also mentored the Philippine men’s volleyball team that won the historic silver medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games held in Manila last 2019, and the gold medal in the 2018 ASEAN School Games where NU represented the country.
The Flying Titans hope to improve on their previous finishes in the 2022 PVL season where they managed fourth in the Open Conference and seventh both in the Invitational and Reinforced Conferences.
Alinsunurin is expected to handle the team composed of Kat Tolentino, Bea De Leon, Isa Molde, Jem Ferrer, Deanna Wong and Des Cheng, to name a few.
