Baseth “Kingpin” Mocaibat demolished Chang Jung-Lin of Chinese Taipei to rule the Sharks One-on-One Race-to-63 10-Ball Championships at the Sharks Billiards and Pool Arena in Quezon City recently.
The Dasmariñas City bet controlled the three-stage matchup with a 21-6 start before padding his lead in the second phase, 42-24.
He sealed the win with another virtuoso performance, wrapping up the match, 63-39, in the tournament sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board.
“Naunahan ko si Fire Dragon (Chang) kaya di ko na hinayaan pa,” said Mocaibat.
Aside from a cash prize, Mocaibat gained points that moved him ahead in the local rankings of the Billiards, Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP).
“Heavy pa rin ang mga pambato nating bilyarista. Malaking tulong ang mga ganitong uri ng kumpetisyon na may mahuhusay na dayuhang kalaban,” said tournament director Hadley Mariano.
The tournament is organized by Sharks Billiards League and supported by Bugsy Promotion, Hardtimes Sports Bar, Andy Billiards Cloth, and BMPAP.
