Pido Jarencio was officially named as University of Santo Tomas head coach, The Varsitarian broke the news on Friday, Feb. 3.
The former UST standout, who debuted his coaching career with his alma mater and steered the team to its last championship in 2006, has finalized the deal with the school officials yesterday.
Tempo-Bulletin earlier reported that Jarencio is going back to his old post more than a week ago.
The 58-year-old has also met with the roster he has inherited from Bal David who resigned after just one season.
After taking over as NorthPort (formerly GlobalPort) mentor in 2013, Jarencio will be looking forward to snap the Tigers’ 13-game losing streak come the UAAP Season 86.
During his first run in España, Jarencio brought the team to a total of six Final Four appearances.
