La Salle Green Hills pulled off a remarkable 87-84 come-from-behind win over San Beda-Taytay in the NCAA Season 98 Juniors Basketball Tournament Friday, Feb. 10, at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Gymnasium in Manila.
Given up for the dead after falling behind by 19 points in third frame, the Greenies came through with several offensive sports to complete their Houdini act – thanks to Seven Gagate, Christian Mesias and Santi Romero.
Gagate finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks, Mesias added 16 points and 11 rebounds while Romero chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
In other games, the Perpetual Junior Altas posted their third win with a 96-81 demolition of host EAC while the San Sebastian College – Recoletos Staglets downed the JRU Light Bombers, 81-70.
Amiel Acido posted his 4th double-double performance in five games for the Junior Altas with 22 point and10 boards.
