F2 Logistics bucked a slow start to outplay Akari in a tight straight-set victory, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Saturday night, Feb. 11, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The Cargo Movers, coming off a five-set victory against the PLDT High Speed Hitters last Feb. 7, managed to show steely nerves in every set this time around to complete the sweep against the winless Chargers.
Kianna Dy provided key hits for F2 Logistics with another 17-point outing similar to her performance in their first win as the Cargo Movers forged a three-way tie for lead with Creamline and Chery Tiggo – all with similar 2-0 cards.
F2 Logistics raced to its biggest lead of the match at 19-10 in the third set before Akari attempted to cut the deficit with a 6-0 run.
However, Dy would rush back to action with back-to-back hits followed by Jess Ramos’ two consecutive services aces, 23-16.
Janine Marciano came through for the Chargers with a crosscourt kill as her last ditch effort to stage a surprise against the surging Cargo Movers before Cha Cruz-Behag committed an attack error.
Meantime, Mylene Paat dropped 26 points to help Chery Tiggo recover from a second-set hiccup for a 25-21, 23-25, 25-16, 25-12 win over Army Black Mamba in the first game.
The Crossovers suffered a second-set defeat against a persistent Lady Troopers side but managed to check their impending meltdown to prevail with Paat delivering 26 points off 22 attacks and four blocks.
Cza Carandang and EJ Laure both had 12 point.
