La Salle Green Hills made it to four in a row while Letran and Mapua got back to their winning ways Monday in the NCAA juniors basketball tournament at the Emilio Aguinaldo College gym in Manila.
Luis Pablo and Santi Romero delivered significant numbers again as the Greenies clobbered the host team Emilio Aguinaldo College, 99-80 while Nygel Gonzales shot 16 points, including a go-ahead triple in the final 41.8 seconds left as the Red Robins pulled off a come-from-behind 70-68 win over Arellano University.
Pablo posted 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Romero finished with only two points but stole six times to live up to his billing as the ‘Ninja Kid” of the leadgue.
Romero also had three assists and one board in another impressive all-around performance that helped the Greenies improve their record to 4-2.
Meantime, Andy Gemao scattered 21 points apart from finishing with seven rebounds and two assists to lead the Letran Squires to a 94-76 rout of Jose Rizal University.
Letran and Mapua remained on top of standings with similar 5-1 slates.
