She is Eba, the star dancer of a men’s club.
Many are vying for her attention, showering her with money, other gifts.
But she only has eyes for one man, Adan, ironically a gigolo willing to do anything and everything to please his clients.
Intriguing enough?
Witness the love story of Eba and Adan, as played by Azi Acosta and John Flores, respectively, in Vivamax’s “Suki.”
Said “Suki” creator Albert Langitan, “This is not meant to romanticize the lifestyle of those engaged in such profession. What I aim to show here is the complications inherent to their existence, particularly where it concerns the heart.”
Note both Azi and John actually visited several bars with Albert just to get a feel of it.
“In fairnesss, mababait ang mga na-meet naming dancers doon. Nakaka-shock lang talaga sa una kasi hindi ako sanay pumunta sa ganoong lugar pero it was fun,” said Azi.
In the film, Eba and Adan will go on to live together despite their knotty situation. As expected, they encounter tons of problems along the way.
As stripper and gigolo, they can’t reconcile the idea of them being loyal to each other while entertaining customers at the same time.
How long will they last?
“Dito sa pelikula actually na-realize ko kung gaano kahirap ang buhay ng mga katulad nila,” said John.
Also starring Jiad Arroyo, Alona Navarro, Chad Kinis, Katya Santos and Alma Moreno, “Suki” premieres exclusively on Vivamax Feb. 24.
