Stalking is a crime.
For a deranged few, however, stalking is romantic.
They deem their creepy obsessiveness nothing but an open declaration of love.
“Stalkers,” an upcoming Vivamax series, tackles the whole idea as a black comedy.
Creator Easy Ferrer related, “Actually, yung original idea namin very dark, morbid. Kaya lang, along the way, we decided na it would be more interesting na gawing comedy.”
As to the probability of people missing the point, he said, “Well, ngayon pa lang po kakalaruhin ko na: We are not condoning stalking. We are just looking into the idea in an effort to understand why these things happen. Why people commit such. We made it comical lang para mas entertaining.”
The series stars Rose Van Ginkel and Wilbert Ross.
The two are glad to work with each other again.
“I’m really happy na si Wilbert ang partner ko dito kasi comfortable na ako sa kanya so, wala nang ilangan pagdating sa mga maseselang eksena,” said Rose.
“Mas madali ang trabaho kasi nga may familiarity,” agreed Wilbert.
“Stalkers” has Rose playing the role of Apple – sexy, beautiful, and quite interesting inasmuch as she possesses an enigmatic personality that makes people want to know her more.
Among them is Wilbert’s Harry, an IT expert at a BPO company.
Handsome as he is, Harry is timid around women. As such, he simply adores them from afar, and without them knowing.
He does the same with Apple, going on to spy on her secretly, wherever.
In short, he becomes her stalker.
Where will it all lead to?
A four-part mini-series, “Stalkers” streams exclusively on Vivamax starting Feb. 26.
