Some of the best in the NCAA juniors scene have surely taken the spotlight with impressive performances statistics-wise at the end of the eliminations, some even completing it in the finest and head-turning performances.
Take Santi Romero of the College of St. Benilde as an example who at one point in the tournament completed an impressive six steals in a 12-minute span and finished in the top 3 of the steals department with 2.13 takeaways behind No. 1 and 2, Cristian Vergara of Perpetual and Andrei Gemao of Letran with 2.33 and 2.22 steals respectively.
Romero also solidified his place as one of the finest defensive players in the league also finishing in the top 3 of the players with the most offensive fouls drawn with 0.5 a game, just behind Nos. 1 and 2 Daryll Dispo of EAC and Rion Porcadas of San Sebastian with 0.8 and 0.56 offensive foul drawns per contest.
In scoring, Matthew Rubico of Lyceum had the highest single game scoring record with 43 points to finish at the No.1 spot with an average of 21. 89 points behind Gemao who had 19.2 points and James Moore of Arellano with 19.0 points per contest.
Rubico also emerged as the best playmaker among his peers with tournament high 10 dimes to finish with 7.1 assists per contest besting Jonathan Manalili of Letran (5.78) and Vergara (4.67).
In rebounding, towering the rest of the field was Letran’s George Diamante who collared a tournament-high 22 rebounds to finish with league-best 13.78 boards per contest while following hims was Paul Enal of JRU and Seven Gagate of CSB averaging 12.89 and 12.44 rebounds respectively.
