Renowned personalities from business and politics helped formally open this year’s Bakery Fair.
Seen March 2 at the World Trade Center were Senator Imee Marcos, Senator Mark Villar, Senator Koko Pimentel, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, incumbent Manila Vice-Mayor Yul Servo.
Also present were Cecilio Pedro, Vice-President, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), Chinese Embassy Minister Counsellor Yang Guoliang and Second Secretary BaiXun.
US Wheat officials led by Wheat Marketing Center Chairman Bill Flory of Oregon and US Wheat Regional Vice-President for South and Southeast Asia Joseph K. Sowers and International Federation of Chinese Bakery & Confectionery Associations Chairman Emeritus Kao Sieu Luc as with leaders of bakery associations in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Cambodia and others, were also in attendance.
Senator Marcos urged for the support of the Philippine bakery industry amid inflation woes.
She also related that proceeds of the movie “Martyr or Murderer,” shall help fund her civic project of giving nutribuns to indigent children.
Senator Villar revealed he had taken baking lessons before.
Senator Pimentel emphasized the importance of the bakery industry in economic growth.
Organized by the Filipino Chinese Bakery Association, Inc. (FCBAI) as led by President Gerik Chua, EVP Chris Ah and First Vice-President Wilson Lee Flores, Bakery Fair 2023 is a unique civic project meant to uplift and promote the whole Philippine bakery industry, especially to support thousands of micro and small enterprises nationwide.
The winners of the Bakery Fair 2023 wedding cake and bread display competitions highlight the focus of FCBAI to support MSMEs and the youth.
Perie’s Bakehouse of Lucena City won the FCBAI Bakers Cup Wedding Cake Competition, earning the champion team as led by St. Anne College Lucena graduate Luisito A. Cudanin, Jr., with Aristeo A. Laguador and Glodemer M. Langusad, a trophy and 80,000 pesos in cash.
The 2023 Angel Cup Bread Display Competition is Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU Batangas) as led by YaunnieCasiano, Lealalen Celemen, Jastin Babaran.
