Kylie Verzosa and Marco Gumabao are paired once again in “Baby Boy, Baby Girl.”
Obviously, they work great together. But if you’re among those who think this could lead to something romantic between them, think again.
Kylie actually thought the idea funny.
“I don’t think it could happen, ever,” she laughed. “I mean, Marco is quite lovable pero we’re really good friends. We’ve known each other for so long so, I look at him and see family, really. He’s like a brother to me.”
Marco feels the same way, too.
He said, “Since Kylie won Miss International in 2016, we’ve been friends already. Kylie and I are really close. Yeah, she’s hot and all pero hindi talo. She’s a friend. And I’m sure she’d rather focus on her career and ako din.”
The closeness helps in portraying lovers onscreen.
“The job is parang easier kasi, we’re familiar with each other,” said Kylie. “So, like, when we do kissing scenes, walang ilangan.”
“Actually, we just do the scenes and that’s it,” added Marco. “Tawanan na lang kami after the take.”
“Baby Boy, Baby Girl,” written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, is a love story between two “sugar babies,” beautiful people who dates older people for money.
Said Jason Paul, “Naintriga ako sa buhay nila, yung glamorous facade and all. Inisip ko ano kaya complications ng buhay nila given their lifestyle? And I thought why not make a movie out of it? I think perfect pareho sina Kylie at Marco dito kasi they’re really nice to look at. Eye candy talaga. Beyond that, pareho silang magaling umarte. Malawak ang kanilang scope as actors.”
“Baby Boy, Baby Girl” opens in cinemas March 22.
