PASSI CITY ˗ Magnolia’s Paul ‘Lethal Weapon’ Lee emerged as the deadliest shooter among them all after winning the three-point shootout while TNT’s Dave Marcelo breezed through the obstacles to dethrone two-time winner Beau Belga in the Obstacle Challenge at the City of Passi Arena on Friday March 10, here.
In a zone, Lee erupted for 28 points in the final, beating fellow streaky gunners Marcio Lassiter of San Miguel and Juami Tiongson of Terrafirma.
Lee actually started out cold in the finale before finally picking up the pace in the second rack. He then buried the money ball rack from top of the key that proved to be too much for Lassiter and Tiongson to beat.
Both Lassiter and Tiongson cooled down in the finals after emerging as the top 2 best shooters in the eliminations with the former dropping 28 and the latter with 26.
Lee, meanwhile, did just enough to advance to the finals rounding up the Top 3 in the first round with 22 points.
Meanwhile, Marcelo displayed superb agility and went on an almost perfect run in the finals to clock 25.38 points and beat Belga and Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger.
The burly TNT forward defeated NorthPort’s JM Calma in the first rounf before shrugging off the challenge from San Miguel Jeepy Faundo in the second round.
Belga, the only obstacle champion since the league made it exclusive for big men finished third with 29.8 seconds while Standhardinger registered 27.47 seconds.
