Newly-signed ONE Championship flyweight Fritz “Kid Tornado” Biagtan is enjoying dual roles as a fighter for ONE Championship and a coach for his fiance Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga.
Biagtan is making sure that the third-ranked atomweight bet is at the top of her game before she takes on the dangerous Julie Mezabarba at ONE Fight Night 9 on April 22 inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Kid Tornado” is fresh off an impressive victory over Nurmukhammad Adamkhonov last February, and he’s now turning his attention to Zamboanga, who’s looking to string together a couple of wins and climb back to the number-one spot.
“Her preparation is good. As one of her coaches, we’re doing our best to get her in the best shape possible,” Biagtan said.
“We need to improve her reaction time, counter-attacking, and load up on her knockout power.”
The 27-year-old, however, warned his fiancee that she won’t have it easy against the Brazilian who’s looking to end a two-fight skid of her own.
After shocking former ONE World Title contender Mei Yamaguchi, Mezabarba suffered two close losses to Stamp Fairtex and Jenelyn Olsim.
