Kiko Estrada is only too happy being given one assignment after another on Viva.
He believes it helped him grow in leaps and bounds as an actor.
“That’s why I’m really grateful for the trust and support they have given me,” he said. “I’m a simple guy. I’m not really after fame and all that. I just want to be good at my craft and earn at the same time, you know, be able to prepare for my future.”
He doesn’t mind that the projects given him are “sexy” at times.
“It comes with the territory I guess,” Kiko said with a smile. “I don’t mind. I think my dad (Gary Estrada) did more.”
If anything, he is excited that he is now moving forward doing more action-centric movies.
“Yeah, I love action films. Ever since naman talaga, I always wanted to try them. And starting with ‘Sitio Diablo’ then recently, ‘Balik Taya,’ I’m getting the hang of it.”
He is back doing more of the same in “Sapul.”
But he made clear, “It’s more than just about that, though. I think it’s also about love, romance. And that, you know, when you love, you give your all. Love hard.”
In “Sapul,” Kiko plays the role of a cop driven to extremes after his wife decided to end their relationship.
Also starring Jeric Raval, Christine Bermas, Phoebe Walker, Ada Hermosa, Chad Solano, Suzette Ranillo, Simon Ibarra and Ina Alegre, “Sapul” as directed by Reynold Giba, premieres on Vivamax April 21.
