La Salle tries to secure one of two twice-to-beat incentives when it takes on Adamson in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday, April 18, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Lady Spikers, who secured the first Final Four seat after rising to 10-1 in the standings, tussle with the Lady Falcons at 2 p.m. with the Taft-based squad going for a repeat.
As in the first round win, the Lady Spikers will once again bank on the duo of reliable rookies Angel Canino and Shevana Laput as they go for the magic win that will assure of finishing either No. 1 or No. 2 at the end of the double round elims.
La Salle is coming off a three-set win over UP in a victory that softened the impact of a shock defeat to UST before the Holy Week break.
Adamson, on the other hand, is eyeing to untangle itself from the three-way tie for No. 2 with reigning champion National University and University of Santo Tomas as they all share similar 8-3 records.
In the other game, Ateneo battles FEU at 12 noon with the Lady Eagles out to console themselves after missing the Final Four for the first time in 14 years.
Far Eastern University (5-6) and Ateneo (4-7) are gunning to end their respective elimination rounds with a much-needed win at the expense of each other.
Meanwhile, the odds are stacked against FEU as it hopes to make a late push to return to the playoffs in the last stretch of the tournament.
