More and more Filipinas are finding their “forever” with a foreigner.
Exploring this as a film concept is director Linneth Zurbano.
She explained, “Marami kasing misconception about it so I just want to shed a bit of light on the matter in a very entertaining way.”
She is doing so via “AFAM.”
Linneth explained the title.
“Ito kasi basically ang tawag ng karamihan sa mga foreigners na nakadestino rito sa bansa. It is an acronym meaning, ‘A foreigner assigned in Manila.’ So, from the title alone, alam na ng moviegoers somehow what to expect from the movie.”
It stars two of Vivamax’s hottest leading ladies Jela Cuenca and Robb Guinto.
As Hazel and Daisy, respectively, they are going to fight over Nico Locco’s Jamey or JJ.
“Dito sa pelikula, pinapalabas na two-timer itong si Jamey,” said Jela. “Yung characters naman ni Robb, parehong desperado so, nag-away kami over him.”
“Medyo drama na may halong comedy ito pero sexy pa rin,” said Robb.
Nicco thinks the idea is fun.
“I don’t think a film about the topic has been made before,” he said. “I really do think it would open a lot of eyes and minds regarding the idea. To each his own really but I really do think it would help a lot of people out there understand the complications inherent to these kind of relationships.”
Also starring Katya Santos, “AFAM” streams on Vivamax May 5.
