Adamson turned back Far Eastern University, 25-22, 26-28, 25-15, 25-17, and secured the No. 3 seed at the close of the double round eliminations in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday, April 30, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
The Lady Falcons finished with a 10-4 record, assuring themselves of the third seed even if University Santo Tomas (9-4) prevails over University of the Philippines.
For finishing third, the Lady Falcons secured the right to face No. 2 seed and defending champion National University in the semis.
The UST Tigresses, who are battling against the Lady Maroons at presstime, are pitted against the top-seeded La Salle Lady Spikers in the other semis pairing.
Both La Salle and NU enjoy twice-to-beat incentives against their respective rivals for finishing 1-2 in the elims.
Kate Santiago produced team-high 21 points on 20 attacks and one block, while rookie Trisha Tubu added 18 points built on 15 attacks and three blocks.
Loren Toring and Lucille Almonte chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively.
