PBA legend Ramon Fernandez has been long retired from competitive basketball but continues to give back by helping aspiring Filipino athletes through his sports and youth development foundation.
With the success of his limited edition autographed cards in 2022, the four-time PBA Most Valuable Player and his group on Saturday, April. 29, launched the El Presidente Autograph Cards Series 2 at the Hobby Stadium in Quezon City.
“We are introducing series 2 of the collectible cards. These are pictures of mine when I was playing for several teams and the national team,” Fernandez said.
“We are in our second series now, limited editions. There are now a total of six designs and there are only 100 copies per design,” he added.
The 69-year-old admitted that the success of series 1 of collector’s cards played a factor in deciding to come out with a second series of card collectibles.
“You can say that it was overwhelming, naubos naman kasi yon. Sold out lahat ng Series 1. That’s why we came about with Series 2 already,” Fernandez explained.
However, it appears that the card collectibles of Fernandez will have further editions with the PBA Hall of Famer contemplating of going global.
“We are also thinking of a global edition. We are still trying to look for pictures, copies of possibly some action shots naman na ilalagay naming,” Fernandez explained.
Aware that there are fans who were unable to get hold of his cards from the first series, Fernandez did not close doors of possibly considering reprinting if there is a clamor for it.
“Well, if there is a clamor for it, that would be a good idea also,” Fernandez said.
After a decorated career that saw him play for the national team on numerous occasions and the pro ranks, Fernandez added that they are still researching other possible photos of him that can be used in future card collectibles.
“We are still trying to do more research on different pictures and we will study them kung ano yung magagandang kopya,” Fernandez said.
