Juvic Pagunsan closed out with a sparkling 4-under-par 66 en route to capturing the Golf Partner Pro-Am Tournament at the Toride Kokusai Golf Club in Ibaraki, Japan Sunday, May 21.
Pagunsan finished with a four-round total of 257, two strokes ahead of closest pursuer Ohira Sato and Taika Simikawa.
He had earlier rounds of 64, 63 and 64.
Sato attempted to outplay Pagunsan with a scorching bogey-free 62, but still fell short, tallying only 259 aggregate.
Simikawa, for his part, had a final round 67.
The Filipino veteran went home with the 12 million yen championship purse (around P4.8 million) as well as his second Japan Golf Tour crown.
His first Japan Golf Tour title came in 2021 where he prevailed in the Mizuno Open
Heading to the final round with a one-shot lead, Pagunsan started with two birdies and a bogey on the first three holes but made three more birdies until a bogey on the 14th.
He fired back-to-back birdies on the 16th and 17th, then fumbled with a bogey on the last hole, but it was enough to keep him afloat.
