Jordan Heading is back to the free agent market in the Japan B. League after parting ways with his Division 2 team Nagasaki Velca, the team announced on Tuesday, June 6.
Heading did well last season after he helped power Nagasaki to the finals – thanks to a 43-17 win-loss record.
They lost to the Saga Balooners in the finals but the team was promoted to Division 1 owing to their runner-up finish.
The 27-year-old guard played 56 games throughout B-League’s 2022-23 season, averaging 13.4 points, 2.8 boards, 3.6 assists plus 1.1 steal per game.
Nagasaki is planning to rebuild since it will be competing in Division 1, six other players were released by the team, including Filipino-Japanese Edward Yamamoto.
The 6-foot-2 Heading is part of the 21-man Gilas Pilipinas pool, from where the 12 members get the chance to represent the country in the FIBA World Cup this August.
