Net25, the country’s first-ever digital TV station, has just launched its film arm, Net25 Films.
Its first effort is titled “Monday First Screening,” which has been described as a “senior citizen rom-com.”
Starring Ricky Davao and Gina Alajar, the story revolves around two senior citizens finding romance watching free movies together.
Said Gina, “I’m really happy that somebody came up with something like this. Kadalasan hindi na napapansin ang mga seniors natin and I feel like it’s about time a movie that they could relate to will be shown in cinemas.”
Added Ricky, “I agree with Gina. At ang maganda pa rito they made it into something lighthearted and fun. Hindi overly dramatic and serious.”
A red carpet screening was held at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City on June 12.
Among stars seen there include Tirso Cruz III, Ara Mina, Ali Sotto, Korina Sanchez-Roxas, Nina Ricci-Alagao, Isay Alvarez, Robert Seña, Eric Quizon, David Chua, Devon Seron.
Seniors who attended the event were able to avail of free medical check up.
They were also given free medicines, vitamins reading glasses, hearing aids, and wheelchairs.
Family members who accompanied the seniors were also able to avail of free services from both Philhealth and Pag-IBIG Fund.
“Monday First Screening” is directed by Benedict Mique who co-wrote the screenplay with Aya Anunciacion.
