Paolo Contis is back to doing what he does best. Making people laugh, that is.
He is doing this via “Ang Pangrap Kong Oskars,” a ground-breaking comedy directed by Jules Katanyag for MAVX Productions Inc.
In the film, Paolo is Bobby B, a struggling film producer eager to create his magnum opus.
Dreaming is good, of course, but he needs cash to get the ball rolling.
Sadly, no one is eager to invest in the endeavor.
In comes his director friend DMZ as played by Joross Gamboa.
Driven by apparent desperation, they come up with a bold concept, something totally out of the box, something nobody ever thought of before. They are going to cast actual aswangs as stars in their movie.
Easier said than done, of course.
With nothing but their doggedness and a camera, the two plunge headfirst into their mission with a mix of thrill and anxiety.
What happens next?
According to producers, “Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars” is an ode to the power of imagination, friendship, the indomitable spirit, the pursuit of dreams and the passion inherent to filmmaking.
Paolo said, “Kung hanap mo e kakaibang comedy, ito ang pelikula para sayo.”
Joross added, “Ito ang totoong kakaiba. Kung masasakyan mo sigurado akong tatawa ka nang tatawa.”
Also starring Faye Lorenzo, Kate Alejandrino, “Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars” opens in cinemas June 28.
