How far will you go to reach your goals?
What are you willing to sacrifice for it?
When the going gets tough, are you willing to keep moving forward?
In Vivamax’s “Hugot,” a rising basketball star puts his dreams on hold to provide for his family.
Cocoy (Benz Sangalang) is a young basketball player with a lot of promise.
Everyone knows his potential.
Many believe he could actually carve a beautiful future for him and his family if he keeps at it.
But life is hard.
Cocoy needs to earn money the fast and easy way.
He would eventually trade hoops with drugs and gambling.
It is a dangerous game, indeed.
Will he emerge a winner or loser?
Said film director Daniel Palacio, “The story of Cocoy is inspired by real events, real people. The idea is to let people know that talent could only take you so far. You need determination, grit, to actually succeed.”
Said Benz,” Natutuwa ako na ako ang napili para sa role na ito. Malapit sa puso ko ang basketball. Naka-relate talaga ako sa character ko rito.”
The film also stars Azi Acosta, Vivamax’s prime draw.
She related, “Marami akong eksena rito with Benz. Pero hindi lang puro sexy scenes ang ginawa ko rito. More on acting din.”
Also starring Mark Anthony Fernandez, Joko Diaz, Julio Diaz, Mickey Ferriols, Isadora, Stephanie Raz, Jiad Arroyo, Apple Castro, “Hugot” streams on Vivamax June 30.
