Kianna Dy got some extra boost and helped F2 Logistics pull off a five-set win against Choco Mucho as her boyfriend Dwight Ramos watched and cheered for every point.
The opposite spiker has been the Cargo Movers’ leading scorer, and the extended match was no different as Dy finished with a team-high 24 points on 21 attacks, two blocks and an ace in their third game in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference on Tuesday night, July 11, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
With every point, the Gilas Pilipinas guard, who was seated next to Dy’s siblings, clapped as the F2 Logistics star carried out the offensive scheme for team that saw them take the solo lead in Pool B.
“Thank you my lucky charm,” Dy wrote in her Instagram story with a photo of herself and Ramos.
Ramos and the rest of Gilas just arrived in Manila after a productive three-week training camp in Europe, where they made progress for an even 3-3 record in six tune-up matches.
It seemed that one of the Japan B.League import’s agendas is to watch his girlfriend’s much-anticipated match against an equally powerful team.
The 24-year-old Ramos and the Nationals continue their tough grind ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup in August which will be co-hosted by the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Dy and the Cargo Movers are set to tackle the Petro Gazz Angels on Thursday, July 13.
The Pool B top seed is eyeing the best finish in the group to advance to the round-robin semifinals and hopefully eclipse its best bronze medal finish in the previous conference.
